You might also be interested in the CX-50. This new Mazda crossover bears a lot of resemblance to the CX-5, which is also available on our lot in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Again, this vehicle is priced to make our customers smile, and its fuel efficiency will keep them satisfied. The 2023 version with the base engine gets up to an EPA-estimated 24/30 MPG (City/Highway).1
Compare this value to some Mazda sedans. For example, the Mazda3 sedan gets 28/36 MPG (City/Highway).1 While this is a more-impressive figure, the difference isn’t that large, given that the Mazda CX-50 is much bigger and weighs substantially more.
That being said, there’s an electric Mazda crossover SUV, the MX-30, that can stop you from having to visit the gas pump at all. All 2022 models of this vehicle are sold. However, it should be returning with other 2023 Mazda SUVs, both in its fully-electric form (with extended range compared to its 2022 version) and (for the first time) as a plug-in hybrid.

This answer is subjective. The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is longer and wider than the CX-5 but sits shorter. The CX-50 can also tow more, although both vehicles share the same standard and available engines. However, it accelerates a little bit slower. They also have different creature comforts and design details. Ultimately, how you feel about these differences will determine which compact SUV is right for you.
